About Me

Hello, I Am Dr Bhusan Chettri. I am an AI researcher working on machine learning and AI for sound and speech with a strong focus on interpretable machine learning and explainable AI: understanding why a model makes a particular decision; what cues does the model look at in the input in forming such decisions?

I earned my PhD degree in AI and Voice Security from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) in 2020. My PhD research was focussed on design and analysis of countermeasures for replay attack in voice biometric system using Machine Learning and AI. Prior to that, I received the M.Sc. degree in Speech and Language processing from the University of Sheffield in 2014; I earned my undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Computer Science from Sikkim Manipal University, India in 2005 and 2008 respectively; I have also earned an MBA degree in Computer Systems from SMUDE, India in 2009.

I have worked as a Research Assistant with the Speech and Hearing Research group, Sheffield University for two years (between 2014-2016). I worked as a part-time Lecturer in Data Analytics at QMUL while I was a PhD student and later joined as a full time Lecturer having completed my PhD studies. I also visited the Computational Speech research group, University of Eastern Finland as a visiting researcher to work on voice biometrics security during April-December 2019. Later I joined the group as a post-doctoral researcher continuing working on the same topic. Presently, I am working as a researcher and consultant specialising on machine learning for speech and voice biometrics with Borac solutions, India.

If you require consultancy services in AI and Machine Learning for speech and language processing, or if you are keen in research collaboration then please get in touch with me.
